The US Treasury Department is imposing sanctions on three vessels for allegedly delivering refined petroleum products to the Houthis, a sign of continued US pressure as it negotiates with Iran about Tehran’s nuclear program, Bloomberg reported.
The targeted vessels transported liquid petroleum gas and gas oil to a Houthi-controlled port in Yemen, the Treasury Department said in a Monday statement.
According to the report, Marshall Islands-registered Zaas Shipping & Trading Co (Zaas Shipping) facilitated the delivery of Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) to the Houthi-controlled port of Ras Isa using the San Marino-flagged Tulip BZ. Mauritius-registered Bagsak Shipping Inc facilitated the delivery of gas oil to the Houthi-controlled port of Ras Isa using the Panama-flagged Maisan. Marshall Islands-registered Great Success Shipping Co (Great Success) facilitated the delivery of gas oil to the Houthi-controlled port of Ras Isa using the Panama-flagged White Whale.
