The International Monetary Fund (IMF) increased its estimate of Iran’s economic growth in 2024, citing a higher-than-expected surge in the country’s oil production.
The IMF, in its latest report published on February 22, forecast a 3.7% economic growth for Iran in 2024 while the figure in its October prediction was 2.5%.
According to the IMF, Iran's economic growth in 2023 reached 5.4%.
According to a report released by the Statistical Centre of Iran (SCI), Iran’s gross domestic product (GDP) registered 4.2% growth, excluding oil, and 6.2%, including oil, in the first nine months of current Iranian year (ending 20th Mar. 2024).
