National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Parliament said lack of cooperation with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) means isolating Iran, adding reports indicate that the American, Zionist, and reactionary triangle is pursuing the issue.
Hashmatullah Falahatpishe said in an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency's parliamentary correspondent about a parliamentary meeting on Saturday on a bill on Iran's accession to the Counter-Terrorism Financing Convention(CFT).
He said yesterday's meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament, Foreign and Intelligence Ministers, heads of the factions and head of the National Security Commission was held, the prevailing atmosphere was that the acceptance of the four conventions that are recommended by the FATF are beneficial for the country or not?
'What most members had to say was that it would be harmful not to accept the CFT, but its acceptance might benefit the country and, in fact, it would have to stop the excuse that existed,' he continued.
Falahatpisheh added, however, that not cooperating with the FATF would mean Iran's full isolation, and other countries and friends cannot work with Iran.
He noted, 'There was nothing to add to the bill in the parliamentary deliberations. The commissions and the government accepted the same content. But the subject of technical and legal editing was raised, which was put on the agenda of the commission and the members should comment, and finally the commission gives its opinion on Tuesday.
