South Korean Finance Minister Kim Dong-yeon held talks with his Iranian counterpart Ali Tayebnia on Friday in Jeju Island on the sidelines of an annual meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
Kim asked for Tehran's support to help Korean firms advance into Iranian projects invested in by the regional bank.
During the talks, Kim said that economic cooperation between Korea and Iran was diversifying into higher added value sectors.
Kim expressed hope a 25 billion dollar financial package the two sides agreed to last year would assist Iran's economic development as well as bilateral relations. The two sides agreed to uncover more areas for aid reception.
